Seminole Fuel System
Fuel is stored in two 55-gal. tanks, one in each nacelle. One gallon of each tank is unusable, giving a total of 108 usable gallons. Minimum fuel grade is 100 octane (green). FSI uses 100 LL (blue).
Normally fuel is supplied by two engine-driven fuel pumps. Auxiliary electric fuel pumps serve as a backup system should the engine-driven pumps fail. Electric fuel pumps should be ON during takeoffs and landings.
The fuel primer system provides fuel to the engine during start and helps in cold weather operations. The primer system provides fuel to cylinders number 1,2, and 4.
Before each flight, fuel must be drained from the low points in the fuel system to ensure that any accumulation of moisture or sediment is removed from the system. The fuel drains are located on the right side of the fuselage.

There is a fuel control lever for each engine, and each is placarded ON - OFF - X-FEED. During normal operation, the levers are in the ON position and each engine draws fuel from the tank on the same side as the engine. When the X-FEED position is selected, the engine will draw fuel from the tank on the opposite side. The OFF position shuts off the fuel flow to that engine.
